According to the police, a 9-year-old boy tragically lost his life on Sunday afternoon after falling from a Bronx apartment building.
Authorities were alerted through a 911 call reporting the child’s fall from the fourth floor of a building located on Mount Hope Place near Anthony Ave. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the boy unconscious on the sidewalk. He was swiftly transported to St. Barnabas Hospital but was pronounced dead.
At present, his identity has not been disclosed. A neighbor named Joshua Rodriguez recounted the chaotic situation that unfolded until the arrival of the first responders.
“People were screaming, ‘Call 911!’ I saw him on the ground under the tree and did CPR on him,” he said.
“He was not responding,” Rodriguez added. “The police arrived and took him to the hospital. The ambulance never came.”
