A 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody for the alleged murder of a 36-year-old reputed member of the Bloods gang in Staten Island

According to police, a 14-year-old boy has been apprehended for the fatal stabbing of a member of the Bloods gang, who was more than twice his age, on Staten Island.

The arrest was made on Thursday night by detectives from the 120th Precinct. The incident, being investigated as gang-related, involved the murder of 36-year-old Jamel Carmona on Wednesday.

Carmona was stabbed in the chest inside a building at the Stapleton Houses on Hill Street near Tompkins Avenue around 9 p.m. He was transported to Staten Island University North Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The 14-year-old suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, faces charges of manslaughter, assault, and illegal possession of weapons.
