New allegations of sexual abuse against Andrew Tate, a social media influencer and self-proclaimed misogynist, have been made by three women who worked with him approximately 10 years ago.
The women, now in their late 20s and early 30s, were reportedly webcam models for Tate in Luton, near London, from 2013 to 2016.
They claim to have been mistreated and underpaid during their employment and were subsequently threatened to deter them from reporting the abuse to the police.
Although they did report the abuse to authorities eight years ago, the case was not properly investigated and was eventually dropped. These latest accusations have come to light through an interview with British television station Sky News.
“When they went to the police, their allegations were not treated seriously, the police didn’t take effective action,” their lawyer, Matt Jury, said. “If those charges had been brought, and he’d been arrested here in England, then perhaps he wouldn’t have fled to Romania where he is reported to have committed further terrible crimes against women.”
The three women who have made the new accusations against Andrew Tate, are reportedly planning to take legal action against the 36-year-old British-American.
Tate was recently released from a Romanian prison and is currently under house arrest. He, along with his brother Tristan Tate and two others, was arrested in December in a suburb of Bucharest on charges of human trafficking and rape, which they deny.
While no one has been formally charged in the case, six victims have reportedly told investigators about being intimidated and exploited by the Tate brothers.
Andrew has threatened to take legal action against one of his accusers. The three women who have made the new allegations claim that the abuse they suffered has resulted in physical and psychological harm that has prevented them from leading a normal life.
“To have seen Andrew Tate’s rise in popularity and influence, while knowing who he is and what he has done, has been extremely difficult for those of us who were sexually and physically abused by him,” one of the women told Sky News. “We intend to prove in court that Andrew is abusive, coercive and controlling and that his public statements about women are nothing more than fantasy.”
The new accusations against Tate include some of “the most awful behavior towards women,” their lawyer said — including “holding guns to women’s heads [and] strangulations including with belts.”
Tate has denied their accusations, saying the women “wanted money because I fired them,” according to a statement released by his defense team.
