According to witnesses and the NYPD, a man was attacked with a bat and stabbed on a street in Queens

On Friday afternoon, a man suffered critical injuries after being repeatedly stabbed and beaten with a bat between two parked cars on 48th St. near 47th Ave. in Sunnyside, as reported by both witnesses and the police.

“He tried to kill him,” said witness Abel Seville, 34. “After he beat him, he stabbed him at least three times in the body and once in the face.”

“He was bleeding real bad,” Seville said.

According to the police, the victim, whose identity remains unknown but is believed to be in his 30s, sustained five stab wounds throughout his body. He was transported by medical personnel to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he remained in critical condition as of late Friday.

The victim was accompanied by a woman, said witnesses. “The woman was screaming and crying,” Seville said.

According to Seville, law enforcement officials brought the attacker out of a building nearby. The police reported that a man and a woman were detained as individuals of interest in the case and that both were involved in the assault.

However, as of late Friday, neither of them had been formally charged, according to the police.
