According to her account, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene was “attacked” on Monday evening while she was collaborating with her aides at a restaurant in Washington, D.C.
The outspoken conservative, who yelled “liar” at President Biden during his State of the Union speech and previously taunted a survivor of the Parkland school shooting, criticized the “demonic” leftists who supposedly disrupted her work-related dinner, lamenting their lack of respect.
“They had no respect for people like me who simply have different political views,” Greene tweeted. “They are self righteous, insane, and completely out of control.”
According to the representative from Georgia, she was taken aback by the actions of other patrons at the restaurant, particularly a woman and her adult son.
Initially, they approached her calmly, but as per her allegations, they soon began shouting and intimidating her.
“They turned into demons. People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore,” she said. “Our country is gone.”
Although Greene used intense language to describe the incident, it appears that she was not physically attacked, and she did not indicate that the police were involved.
One of her aides, Nick Dyer, argued that it was unfair to engage in political conflict within a restaurant.
“The congresswoman deserves to be able to eat at a restaurant in peace,” said Dyer, who refused to name the eatery.
Despite advocating for political comity in the restaurant incident, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has a history of aggressively fighting for conservative views.
She once confronted David Hogg, a survivor of the Parkland school shooting, while he was walking in Washington, D.C., and also confronted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in the halls of Congress in an attempt to debate her Green New Deal proposal.
Recently, she has called for red states to secede from the union in what she terms a “national divorce.”
Additionally, Greene suggested that Americans who move to GOP-controlled states should not be allowed to vote immediately, which is a shocking violation of democratic norms.
