Authorities said a man, 38, was arrested for shooting his girlfriend’s 8-year-old daughter in the stomach inside their Bronx residence on September 23 before running off to Vermont.

Police said Jayshiem Daniels was charged with assault, weapons possession, reckless endangerment & acting in a manner injurious to a child for the shooting at NYCHA’s Patterson Houses in Mott Haven.

The victim was taken by her mother to Lincoln Medical Center, where the mom said to cops that a stranger broke into her apartment & shot her daughter.

But she caved and implicated Daniels after investigators repeatedly questioned her. The mother was not immediately facing charges for lying to police.
