Finnair to sell ready-made business class airplane food in stores to keep its catering staff employed

Finnair, the flag carrier & largest airline of Finland, will start selling ready-made business class airplane food in stores this week to keep the catering staff of Finland’s state-controlled airline employed.

Starting Thursday, the handmade food, which are part of the “Taste of Finnair” pilot scheme, will be sold at the K-City Market Tammisto in Vantaa, about 12 miles north of Finnish capital Helsinki.

The European nation has seen a rise in the sales of takeout food since the spring, when Covid-19 lockdowns resulted to almost 60% of the local work force working virtually.

majority of the people are unable to jump through the hoops necessary to travel internationally these days, so airlines around the globe have come up with creative alternatives in the interim.
