A COVID nurse from West Virginia who traveled to New York to save lives charged with a shooting a woman back home

A 39-year-old West Virginia nurse who came to New York & Texas to save lives at the heights of the Covid-19 crisis has been charged with a shooting a lady back home. The casualty suffered critical wounds.

Authorities say Amy Thorn shot Jonda Whitt during a verbal fight on Thursday evening in her hometown of Williamson, West Virginia.

Officials said Thorn & Whitt were fighting before Thorn went to her vehicle, grabbed a gun & shot Whitt. Whitt was taken to a near by medical facility; Thorn told police the shooting was in self-defense.

Thorn was formally charged with malicious wounding.
