33-year-old Serbian professional tennis player Novak Djokovic is into the French Open semifinals for the 10th time in his career, but his injuries gave him a tough fight.
Appearing to be slowed down by neck & arm wounds in the early rounds of his quarterfinal game against a Spanish professional tennis player Pablo Carreno Busta, the World No.1 dug deep to overcome the Spaniard 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, 6-4 on Wednesday.
In what was a rematch of the meeting between the pair at the US Open in September where he was disqualified for hitting a line judge with a ball, Djokovic grimaced as he lost the first set, making an uncharacteristic 16 unforced errors.
“Well, I definitely didn’t feel great coming into the court today. Few things happened in the warm-up. I had to deal with those physical issues coming onto the court,” Djokovic said.
