A 20-year-old female motorist died in a crash with a U.S. Postal Service truck in Brooklyn

A young girl passed away in a crash with a U.S. Postal Service truck in Brooklyn early Tuesday, authorities said.

The girl, 20, was driving her Honda Accord south on Atkins Ave. in East New York when she hit the truck, going east on Cozine Ave., in the intersection about 2 a.m., police said.

The motorist passed away at the scene. Her name was not immediately released.

The postal truck driver, 48, suffering a head injury. first responders took him to Brookdale University Hospital in stable condition.

No charges were immediately filed as the New York City Police Department continues to investigate.
