Cops said a lady passed away on Thursday morning after she threw herself into the East River. Observers detected the lady, 55, jumping over a boundary close to FDR Drive and E. 41st St. around 7:30 a.m., by the passage to the Queens-Midtown Tunnel. They called 911 to report that the lady was battling against the waves. A NYPD Harbor Unit team found the person in question, yet were past the point where it is possible to save her.
