“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” remake is now official. Will Smith declared on Tuesday on his YouTube Channel that the new show has been signed by Peacock TV.
“We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season order from a pitch. I’ve been in this business for 30 years, and that does not happen.” Smith said in the video, which shows him on an online conversation with others including writer/director Morgan Cooper, whose viral video roused the new show.
Cooper’s trailer reconsiders the show featuring Smith, which ran on NBC from 1990 to 1996, as a drama. It appeared on YouTube in March 2019.
