Gun violence continues to rise on New York streets

From 12 PM to 12 PM, gunfire provoked police responses in Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. A man going to an off the cuff ball competition in Hollis, Queens was shot in the head around 7:45 p.m. On Saturday evening, not long before 2 p.m, Fabian Abney, 20, was discovered shot dead in the lobby of a structure in NYCHA’s Coney Island Houses, on W. 25th St. near Mermaid Ave. He had been shot in the chest.

Nine hours sooner at 5:20 a.m, a man in a hoodie started shooting into a horde of individuals near two schools and a play area at E. 152nd St. near Courtlandt Ave. in Melrose, the Bronx, slaughtering Priscilla Vasquez, a 25-year-old mother. She was injured in the rear of her head. The suspect, a man in his 20s who enhanced his black hoodie with a white careful veil, vanished into the pre-day haziness.

Saturday’s slaughter started when gunfire emitted on Park Place near Rogers Ave. in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn at 12:30 a.m., brushing a 27-year-old person in the left knee and a 28-year-old person in the right leg. In the following 40 minutes, five individuals were shot in discrete occurrences in Brooklyn, Harlem and the Bronx. Every one of the five were hospitalized with non-hazardous wounds.
