30-year-old man shot in the face & killed in Harlem

Bronx man was murdered in a Harlem drive-by assault. Irvin Payne, 30, was outside the Savoy Park Apartments on Lenox Ave. close to W. 139th St. at 3:10 a.m. on Wednesday when a white car moved up to him.

Somebody from the car started shooting, shooting Payne in the face, around three miles from the casualty’s home. Surgeons hurried Payne to Harlem Hospital, where he passed away a few hours later. It was not quickly clear if the shooter escaped the vehicle before he shot Payne. No captures have been made.
